Licorice Root A New Friend
Where Does This Magic Root Come From?
Licorice root also has antibacterial properties and can be used to Aid in healing and prevention of bacterial growth on the scalp. I haven't been able to find many hair care product recipes for using licorice root so I will just stick with the standard herbal hair tea rinse.
You can find information about creating your own herbal hair tea in my herbal hair care reference guide ebook. I'm curious to know if anyone has tried licorice root to treat dryness or scalp conditions?

Ode To AloeOh Aloe, let me count the ways I love thee; the way your nutrient rich flesh envelopes my locs coating them in a moisture sleeve, leaving my locs full of body, sheen, and moisture. How could I ever live without thee? LOL, yeah that's kinda how my relationship with the aloe vera goes.
I love Instagram for loc-inspiration and to support my fellow dreadheads. Check out 5 of my favorite dreadheads on Instagram.
A lot of people say you're not supposed to switch from palm rolling to interlocking however, I ended up doing this in January 2017. I went from palm rolling to interlocking on my 7 year old mature dreadlocks. I started and have maintained my locs myself so it's definitely been a learning process. My reason for switching was because I wanted to no longer use any chemicals in my hair. I was using Jamaican Mango & Lime Locking Gel which was working great but as I'm transitioning some aspects in my life I really wanted a chemical free maintenance. I could have opted to free form my locs however I prefer that my roots are cleaner. I didn't want to use butters or oils because my scalp is prone to acne. For me the best alternative was interlocking.
This is one of the best interlocking video tutorials that I've seen on YouTube. I love that the lighting is great and you can really see the tool and the rotation she is using. Check it out and let me know what you think of this technique. |
